Association of Fraternity Advisors on Non-Binary Issue

The Association of Fraternity Advisors has a monthly e-publication called Essentials.  The theme of the November 2017 edition is “Supporting Trans/Non-Binary Students” and features articles entitled “Our Non-Binary Voices on Binary Realities & Changing Future,” “Beyond the Binary, From Sisterhood to Siblinghood,” “Active Ways to Help Fraternity/Sorority Life More Inclusive,” and “Men’s Fraternities Should be For Women: A Call to Rethink Gender and Sex in Our Organizations.”  These articles suggest future challenges from university student affairs offices on the ability of groups to remain fraternal organizations of all men or all women indefinitely into the future.  The complete articles will be on the AFA website: www.afa1976.org.
